CHAPTER VI
TRENDING DEETS
You NEED Lip Liner and Lipstick to shape the lips, prevent feathering, and enhance lipstick color.
You’ll need to either underline, outline, or overdraw your lips with a liner slightly darker than your lipstick. Which route you go depends on the lips job you desire that day. Another combo option is Lip Liner and Gloss, where this time you define while adding shine. This also creates the perfect ombre lip, where you create a gradient effect with two or more colors. Using a darker shade on the outer corners and a lighter shade in the center, blending where they meet.
For a super natural effect, try Lip liner and Tint, topping with a Balm to keep lips moisturized. This is easy for the purse or wallet.
TRY THIS TRENDING TECHNIQUE!
Strawberry & Lollipop Lips: Juicy, bitten tones in sheer berry hues and warm terracottas are popular.
The aim is to enhance the natural lip tone.
Techniques: Lip stains or multi-use products that can be used on lips and cheeks are favored for a customized opacity. Blurred lip edges are also a trend – apply lipstick and then soften the edges with your finger.
Products: Lip stains, tinted lip balms, cream blushes that can double as lip color, and blurring lipsticks or lip blushes are ideal.
3-Step Blush Smoothie Application
Step 1: Mix and Apply: Begin with a smooth, hydrated base. On the back of your hand, mix your desired cream or liquid blush shades to create your "blush smoothie." Use a brush or your fingertips to gently apply the mixture to the apples of your cheeks, blending upwards towards your temples.
Step 2 : Layer and Blend: Add more layers of blush to intensify the color, focusing on the center of the cheeks for a flushed look. Use a fluffy brush to ensure everything is seamlessly blended, creating a smooth gradient of color.
Step 3: Highlight, or Conceal: Time to add your last layer of under-eye highlighter. Either by use of a cream/liquid concealer, or a translucent fixing powder. This will be sure to tone things down, incase you go in too heavy and suffer from a case of blush blindness - which is 100% fine if that’s the look you’re intending to go for!
To create a contoured effect without traditional contouring, strategically place deeper blush shades along the cheekbones and blend upwards, mimicking the shadows created by natural face structure.
Champagne Cheeks, or “Blush Blindness”
The trendy thing in the now is to apply your Blush high on the cheekbones. Aiming to adorn your cheeks in a peachy-orange shade that reads almost champagne is popular for a youthful glow.
Focus on placement to lift the face. Cream or illuminating powder blushes work well. Utilize Illuminating cream or powder blushes in peachy-orange or champagne tones.
