the dolly debut!
Girl, I don't even know an accurate way to express this – because I am just that damn excited! If you're following me on social media, you already KNOW what just dropped... and for me? It's huge. Technically, it's a never-before-mentioned topic on this blog, so of course, I'm going to give you a dramatic introduction, set the stage, and then offer a little backstage action too!
Matthew 25:29-30 said….
“For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
…. god’s words - not mine!
and with that
I present to you, my Dollface –
MAKEUP FOR THE
MODERN DAY DOLL.

is the ultimate guide to crafting looks that are as fierce, fun, and fearlessly YOU as possible.
not only a new blog series offered on this website, but it's also an e-book... and it'll be a SERIES.
Girl. A fucking series.
This is monumental.
I'm not sure if you fully grasp why it's so significant, but as an air sign with a Pisces Moon placement, routines are challenging for me. Sticking to things, maintaining consistency, and committing to long-term projects—especially in entrepreneurship—are relatively difficult.
As an entrepreneur, I've often "rejected" my role or denied my undeniable passion for it. At the same time, I'm very creative and enjoy bringing things to life (within my interest field, obviously). I've honestly been sitting on this digital content, or had the idea brewing, for quite some time. But I've very recently decided that my reluctance dies here.

I've been a risk-taker in the past, and I know I'm still that woman today. My mental and spiritual light was somewhat dimmed by recent life turmoils. I am balls deep in debt, family issues, and unhealthy coping mechanisms... but while these truths exist, I am choosing to focus my efforts on things that make me feel good and help me discover my purpose to walk in the truth God designed for me.
NOT the disingenuous truth I've adopted from the ridicule of others, or from the toxic coping mechanisms that emerge with adulthood.

The truth is... I despise liars, but I've sometimes existed in the form of a lie myself. Like most, I may verbalize things or enact a lifestyle that I don't necessarily want, nor deserve. But hurt people not only hurt others – they most importantly hurt themselves! I, fortunately, haven't done the most extreme damage, and I do feel I am at a point of repentance and redemption. However, growing up on the Southside of Chicago, almost immediately into a broken household situation—one that was better than most, yet more detrimental than many (because if your grandparents didn't kinda raise you... what the fuck were they doing? It takes a village!)—shaped me.
The truth is, I can be hypocritical and, at times, quite judgmental. If I'm owning everything, I seem confident, yet I am quite timid. I can embody so many things, as I have so many layers. The way these characteristics present themselves as true, they also present as strength. When you're afraid to achieve significant growth, it's often because someone in your past attempted to diminish you.
Without dissecting where it stems from, the simplest thing to do is shift your perspective.
And honestly, that's a hard one.
Another truth? I struggle the most in this area. I say I am pessimistic, but only to appease the opinions of others. In reality, I like to think I exist in a sense of realism, and of course, a little bit of anxiety (maybe a lot). One thing that's always helped me is femininity. Feeling like a woman, embracing other women—from random, late-night bathroom gatherings at the club with strangers, to bonding with my closest gal pals. Since I am not trying to deliberately exist in that "negative space," I am leaning on community most.
The reality is that I just had my entire life relocated to Middle Tennessee, previously knowing absolutely no one. This was obviously a risk in itself, but the perspective I adopted around why I felt I had to move overwhelmed me... until now.
side scoop: since starting my career in makeup, and honestly even before, I've always received questions and inquiries about my base, preferred products, or how to apply them properly. And so I say all this to convey that I believe one of the many purposes God gave me in this life is to teach. I've never dreamt of being a teacher, or even a freaking makeup artist... but God gives you what you need, not what you want.
And I'd be a fool to continue to ignore that message. (as per the scripture I cited above)
My hope is that by starting my journey creating digital, and soon-to-be physical, products, I can not only say I have a successful e-book series... but one that is successful because it lands, it sticks, and it works. Everything I write, in everything I publish, is as authentic as it comes. I was blessed to have the desire to acquire full knowledge of makeup application, and then even more fortunate to have had a short but successful career with an international makeup brand. And it's about time I see myself as qualified.
I want to empower women to feel that exact same way, either through makeup or generally through the power of support and womanhood. I’m planning a trip soon, and even though I’m thinking “early”… I am totally preparing to cut it close and pack same day. I never PLAN that? but I don’t fight that, I embrace it? and YOU can too.
